Facebook users beware!

EVERYONE'S MOBILE PHONE NUMBER IS NOW ON FACEBOOK!! NO JOKE... Go to the top right of your screen, click Account then Edit Friends. Go to the left side of your screen and click Phonebook. Everyone's mobile phone numbers are now being published. Please repost to let your friends know this is happening so they can remove their numbers

Just got this from a friend and it's correct, well worth removing your phone number I think. A friend has just had an unsolicited text message from someone who sent a friends request that she didn't accept and he has now got her phone number.

Re: Facebook users beware!

i cant believe people put their number on facebook. If they are your friends they should already have it or pass it on privatly. Not sure what i put for mine it may be a takeaway number or somthing so i hope whoever rings it enjoys their meal

i also cant believe facebook allow this to happen it was only a few months ago they reset everyones security settings and left everyones details and accounts fully exposed to anyone who wanted to look at them

mind you they dont have a good record they point blank refused to help protect children from perverts saying their sites system was ok as it was

thanx for the head up though it dosnt effect me but i wouldnt have noticed if it did

Only a small minority ...but don't understand the blurb behind it, Lindsay ?

Notice the ones that are showing their number are all mobile ... except Jaysay, of course, showing his landline ....

Re: Facebook users beware!

It seems it's just users who've put their number/s on their info.

Worth taking off if you don't want to be in the Facebook directory.

Don't worry.

I'm not as stupid as I look.

I'll still keep my front door-key under my profile picture.

Re: Facebook users beware!

You set in your privacy setting who can see what info.
Showing phone numbers is nothing new. My mobile picked up facebook friends phone numbers months ago when i first got the phone.

Most of my personal info like emails and phone number is set to be viewed by me only so you should not be able to see my number. If you can see my number then yes they are doing something wrong.

Re: Facebook users beware!

email is because its how you log in. I have more than one in because a while ago Rhonda had a problem where her password was screwed up and she could not log in. The password resets are sent as an email but our provider was bining emails from facebook and nothing they could do would let the emails come through. Thats why we both have home and work emails on. Mine are set so only I can see them. Dont know how Rhonda has hers set. Probably so only friends can see it. After all if you only have people you class as friends then whats the problem.

As for mobile number they can reset your password by sending a code to your mobile. They can sent notifications to your mobile and you can use your mobile to update your status.

I dont put my work details in. I know people who have been in trouble for posting work things before
