Lower ebay fees....

From 20th Feb ebay fees are going

Ebay sent me this-
New Pricing Model for eBay.co.uk

Reducing the Risk

"When you list an item on eBay, you're charged an Insertion Fee. If the item sells, you are also charged a Final Value Fee. The Insertion Fee is calculated based on the item's starting price while the Final Value Fee is based on the item's closing price and is only due if the item sells. The total cost of selling an item is the Insertion Fee plus the Final Value Fee.
We are pleased to announce major reductions of up to 33% in Insertion Fees for most categories. Lower Insertion Fees reduce the upfront risk of listing items, and this is one of the most requested improvements from sellers. We will balance the new Insertion Fee reductions by raising Final Value Fees so that your total fees better reflect your selling success.
These pricing changes will affect Auction-style and Buy It Now formats, and take effect on 20th February 2008."

Thats good news...also never thought a penny would make such a difference but if you list something as 2.99 intead of 3.00 the insertion fee decreases alot.

Re: Lower ebay fees....

This is NOT GOOD AT ALL!

It costs a fortune once you sell something now! They've increased the amount they take from the final sale by quite a few percent. They take a huge cut. It's just cheap to LIST stuff.

Ebay have more users than ever, they should be reducing costs not increasing them! Greedy.

Re: Lower ebay fees....

ebay are being boycotted at the moment over the feedback, unless they've backtracked on it in the last few days. This is clearly meant to encourage people to list stuff. I find it hard to work out a profit selling stuff on there. It's okay if it's already yours and you don't want it but not to buy and sell for a profit .

Why is ebay ebay and not Ebay?

A classic case of not reading all of the message. Very poor.
