Rumours Abound Re: The Stag

Iv'e been hearing on the rumour treadmill that The Stag is to open again next month & Dave has been beavering away inside making it once again into the pub we all loved.I know we've heard these rumours before only for it not to happen, but could it be for real this time:confused:

Could be good news then.

I think the main reason for the numbers dropping off at AccyWeb meets is because we don't have a home anymore.

I for one hope this 'rumour' is true, I only came to a couple of meets there but rather enjoyed the atmosphere...................can anyone confirm/deny the rumour?

The lights were on yesterday when I passed on the bus and it looked like the curtains had been hung. Maybe opening is getting near:)

Good to see a pub opening instead of closing down.

All it needs now is for people to frequent it more often and show it some support, that is the only chance it has of staying open, is sometimes also down to how competetive and inventive the landlord is.

Re: Rumours Abound Re: The Stag

hope they suceed, take more than a bit of invention fer a boozer to take off these days, when odds are stacked against em.

A good start would be involving the local residents, do stuff for the kids, round up the local talent and have a saturday or sunday jam night, there are a lot of 'singers' and 'musicians' who wont do kareaoke because they see it as cheating, but they will sing/play live, and it makes for a cracking night.

I have been a customer in various pubs all my life, I have even been associated to the licenced to the trade for many years.
I will never, for the rest of my life enter a pub that does not allow me to enjoy my evening by having a smoke.
I may come across as being selfish, but this is my life.

The first time I've been in Ossy for three years and eighteen months since I was last in England was the last week in October. Absolutely horrendous for a smoker.

Standing outside the Stop and the Plough trying to puff an odd fag was abysmal.

I so agree with you Roy. I'm now back home and smoking to my heart's content x
