Accringtons Jubilee Souvenir 1878-1928

this is a book that i have managed to get my mits on,i know its not in the best of conditions and i dont know if it has all its pages? I was wondering if anyone else out there has a copy!there is some really fascinating stuff in it and some good owd photos. If anyone wants to have a look through it come to see me down at pub(sorry cant let it go on walkabouts)if you require any copys of the photos i will do them for you.

Accringtons Jubilee Souvenir 1878-1928

Yep, this book is a gem. I am the lucky owner of one also. They were given out to school kids in 1928, so there are probbly lots still around, now owned by grandchildren. It has some brilliant photos in it.

It's a good book staggeringman i used to own a copy of it, i gave it to my nephew last year.

It looks fascinating. I don't think I've ever seen one so we may just have to stagger down to the pub one day for a better look.

From the same period I have a commerative Medal, It has the coat of arms on one side & the Town Hall on the other, it's not in mint condition I think it has been somewhere damp at some time but everything on it is clear enough. I'll bring it in for you to see next time I call for a pint & either you or Mick can photograph it & put it on here.

Hi Staggering Man. The Jubilee book, I have two of them somewhere. If you look at the town maps on page 47-48 if I remeber correctly. Well I've redrawn them, they are now on a sheet of plastic 3ft 6in by 2ft 6in, with those estate plans redrawn to the same scale, so they can be overlaid to showthe land boundries.

There used to be copies in Accrington Library and looking on the web ebay and others have copies
