Piccadilly?
another thing i read which was interesting (to me anyway)lol was there used to be a row in accrington called "Piccadilly" had never heard of it before but have walked on it 1000s of times, where was that?

correct margaret,the block was demolished n rebuilt as shops in 1924, wether it retained the name piccadilly then i am not sure? pre 1924 on the corner of piccadilly/dutton st was Henry Wormwell,a mill n general furnishings engineer, i presume Redmans n the like appeared in 1924.

I notice that quite a lot of threads are duplicates of older discussions, and I have been here only 10 months.
I confess that I got the right answer from 3 minutes googling , though using our own search would have been quicker

It’s good that these threads reappear from time to time, it helps to re educate in some respects, bring back memories for some and to spark and develop interest in our local history.
