Thanks for that Dave, I know you have a professional eye for these things.

The workmen have done a lot of flagging today, the area nearest to Church Street steps is well on its way now, and they have flagged quite a large amount of the pathway from the church towards the new Holmes Street entrance.

Looks like the work is coming on well - it's bound to clash a little at first with the old stone wall but as Dave said it will soon mellow and blend in. I will look forward to going in and having a sit in there as I usually do when I come over -presume they haven't removed the benches...

Re: ST JAMES CHURCH Accrington

Not very impressed at all Atarah, Don't mean the workmanship, mean the drab/boring look, was down yesterday, Acute shortage of greenery.

It looks very clinical and not really in keeping with the surroundings...and yes, there is a distinct lack of foliage/trees...but maybe that is something for later on in the project.

Re: ST JAMES CHURCH Accrington

Hi, there are indeed plans for replacement trees and bulbs to be planted, but ..... the whole of the area in front of the main entrance being paved???? It looks horrible. The oldest church in Accrington! What have they done!!
As it had to be finished in time for Nov 11th, that must mean some sort of service may be held in the church grounds on Sunday. Lets see what folk think then.
