They shall not pass!

Interesting gateway, looks like no one is getting in here, or out for that matter.
But the questions are, whose is it and where is it??

BTW, as a matter of curiosity, did anyone in Accrington make Blue Engineering Bricks, or are these Imported?

You got me there, A-B. At a guess, I'd say somewhere around the Dunkenhalgh estate or possibly up Foxhill bank. I suppose I've just been away far to long!

Hmm, this would probably be better in the Church's Historic Waterfront thread.

Could be on t'canal near Steiners (favourite) or near Blythes. Don't think its near Foxhill Bank as my Sister-in-law lives there, and I sometimes walk about with mi eyes open. Alleytroyds...I don't think so!

Church Kirk...not unless it's on t'canal.

Or is it......then again...no!!

I'll put mi thinking cap on.... See ya Monday...........

Re: They shall not pass!

Dont know where it is but its most likely near a canal or a railway, the bricks are staffordshire blues, staffordshires equivalent to Nori, and used by canal builders and is the fav brick for british rail, I know cause I was once sent to staffordshire to pick 4 packs up when they ran short for a bridge over the M65 when it was being built, I asked the agent why they used them and he said they were better than Nori

This is driving me mad because I know I've seen it somewhere round there!
I drove Busman up the wall yesterday driving around that area looking for it.
