Time machine

Would'nt it be great to have a time machine. Personally i would go back 100 years and walk round Accrington taking in the sights. What would you do? Id also catch a train to Manchester and go up the Baxenden bank

Re: Time machine

I wouldn't need to go back that far groove, back to the sixties would do, when the times were wild and the music was great, beer was good and would be young enough to enjoy it all again

Re: Time machine

I'd go back to the 1950s when there was a good community spirit among people in the town centre or in your local street ; probably a result of the spirit and discipline brought about by WW2 . And there was such a thing as respect .

I would also enjoy the car-free streets . There was no need for pedestrianised zones .

Would go back to the mid-50's just to see Stanley's best-ever team playing in front of 10,000+ gates at Peel Park.

Major historical events, especially those that are controversial to actually find out the truth, plus some of major sporting events with a couple of quid at the bookies.
