I am sure that the Local Studies (upstairs) librarian would like to have this in their file on Blake's His name is John Simpson

Thanks T J Edwards. I do have several old catalogues of John Blake Ltd, so I think Bob's suggestion that you pass yours on to the Local Studies collection is an excellent one. I think it is so important that historical material is preserved, and donating to the local library/museum is the best way to do that.

The date of 1970 for the move to Clayton must be wrong as I was an apprentice engineer at Allspeeds in the John Blake factory of Lower Barnes Street, Clayton in 1956. As well as pump and Kopp variable speed gear manufacture there was also a vitreous enamelling department.
