Planning Applications

Well, pursuing my new hobby of viewing the new planning applications every 2 weeks, am often bemused by some of them e.g:-

New play area on Dale Street which appears to be half a football field as they state 'one goal end'

Erection of totem pole on Hyndburn Road .. is this some fancy word for vertical advertising pole.??

But the creme de la creme was an application for swimming pool, terrace and fence down White Ash Lane, Oswaldtwistle ?!?

Suppose I got to read between the lines and official jargon ... but .....:rofl38:

No, I'm perfectly serious. I'll see if I have a photo of it. I haven't been up there for a while so not sure if it's still there. If you go along to the end of the houses on the left and then turn down the side and go down that path a few yards it's there - or at least it was..

Whoops, looks like we are going to lose one of our meeting watering holes, application to change the Shoulder of Mutton from public house to single dwelling unit .. good views for somebody anyway :(

Hope they get rid of that barbed wire fencing ...:D

Mmm - nice location. You've just reminded me that I never did photograph that totem pole. Must try to remember to do that.

Along with a new building for our station and no parking application from Oak Street, off Blackburn Road going towards Rishton, came across an application to change Vine Mill, Ossy from warehousing to artist studio, gallery, cafe and retail, requested by an organisation named Feelslike.
Looks like we are going to become the new cultural centre of Lancashire folks:-
