Re: Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Park
What a simply brilliant day.
The rain stayed away, and the sun made many welcoming appearances.
It was so lovely to see the park so full of people of all ages, and all enjoying themselves, many of them Accy Webbers.
A massive thanks must go the the Friends of Rhyddings Park, who must have worked hard ensuring today was a great success, espcially Gayle.
I know a lot of the dickie birds who live in the park, and one of them did twitter in my ear that a certain Peter Britcliffe had made sure the park was looking it's best today, and it was. So credit where credit's due, I'm sure it was appreciated.
The four bands were brilliant, and there was something to suit most musical tastes.
I throughly enjoyed myself, and catching up with so many people for a natter was fun, whilst enjoying the sunshine and music.
Thank you to all who made it happen.
Neil, your speech at the end moved me to tears.

Re: Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Park
Thanks to everyone who came, hope your head is ok now Kate!!!!!
One unfortunate thing is that the Accy Obs and Lancs Tel didn't send photographers or reporters so it won't get any coverage. Oh, well I suppose we don't do it for the glory of being in the papers - we do it for everyone who turned up. The police reckon there were about 1,000 people there at the peak. Thanks.

Re: Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Park
I am glad I made the effort to go, and would have stayed longer if some seating had been provided near the bandstand. I almost sat down on the grass but mid descent I decided that it wasn't such a good idea
