Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Park
Friends of Rhyddings Park is organising a big music event in the park on Sunday, June 15th between 3pm and 7pm.
There will be classical, jazz and brass bands playing, in other words, a really traditional park concert.
It's free to attend.
We have a full music programme including Darwen Brass Band and East Lancashire Concert Band, plus circus acts on the field.
You're invited to come along and bring a picnic (hopefully we'll get good weather) and enjoy the afternoon - it's Father's Day as well, so we're hoping lots of families will come.
There's just one thing I need to find now and that's a good Compere! If anyone knows of anybody who is capable of introducing the acts, chatting to the crowd and keeping the event moving could you please let me know. I'd love to hire a local person to do it.

Re: Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Park
Have mentioned 'a do' like this to Mez and us gang, I love these events ...yes, providing weather OK ...
No doubt, we would be bringing a decent sized picnic with tablecloths, candelabra, etc.

Re: Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Park
well i just thought id resurect this thread because a certain accyweb member & a member of our tiny group of friends (girls only) (no names now) is celebrating her birthday on the 14th of june, its a special one umm so we thought we would do something different for her soooooo we are having a "party in the park" celebration with her as the main guest at our table so if there are any accywebbers attending on sunday 15th of june please feel free to call at our rather large table to wish our lady of the day a happy birthday.
of course it all depends on the weather too

Re: Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Park
The weather forecasts are improving. When I last looked it said 60% precipitation - now it's showing a nice sunny picture and only 10% precipitation!
What do they know anyway?

Re: Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Park
Well it's stopped precipitating today now and the forecast had been a bad one.
