Metal Detecting
I have just moved to the area and I am a keen metal detectorist. I have had several successful years in the hobby. I am not a member of a club in this area but am registered with F.I.D. I use a Whites XLT and Minelab Sovereign.
Are there any other local detectorists in Accrington looking for a partner, or just like to chat about this great hobby.

Re: Metal Detecting
This is something I've always fancied having a go at but never got round to it. Have you ever found anything interesting?

Re: Metal Detecting
I really want to take up the hobby again, although I am a bit bothered about the lack of places to go. I have my eye on a Whites prism V, but cannot justify paying the money if there is nowhere to go, as I have found farmers in this area seem to have something to hide. So if you know of any good sites around here Tarot I would take up my favorite hobby again and join you for a good days hunting, I live in the Oswaldtwistle area.

I tried it for a short time, but like fireman found that I wasn't welcome (I think thats just down to me not the metal-detector), but have always fancied doing it properly, so if you can give me some worthwile advice like Wingy I'm all ears. (sorry wingy couldn't resist it! ).

Re: Metal Detecting
Thanks for the response and local interest to my first post on Metal Detecting. The starting of a local club would be a great idea, and I have been on the commitee of previous clubs and been the NCMD Federation Rep. I am just starting a new job in this area so will be quite busy over the next month or so. When things quiet down we could arrange a meeting to discuss things and I could bring some finds along to stir some interest. If all of you that are interested could send me an email to tarot1956@aol.com , I will contact you all when I am settled into my new job.
Kind Regards Tarot (Bob Dixon)
