Watching Freeview

I notice that Sky Sports 1 & 2 are on freeview, why? their contents are scrambled.

If I have to pay for it, it isn't 'free' view, so why are they blocking channels that could be?

Think it's more to do with the satellite than owt else Less. Every so often I do a scan over here of the freeview channels on the Astra Sat & pay channels are amongst those selected, daft I know but hey ho !

I think wur a bit muxed here, Freeview round here is from Winter Hill via relay masts. Freesat is via a dish pointing at the same direction as the Sky satelite. I get both Sky and Freesat via a quad head. I very seldom watch Sky, but do record quite a few programs on Freesat.
Can't comment on the sports channels, don't watch any of it, and tholympics will not be on unless they stick abit on the 6 oclck news, be glad when that rubbish is over.
Why is it called The Olympic Games, how many of those events are actually games.

Think you may be right Retlaw It's just that we tend to use the Sat over here to pick up UK channels, never gave a thought that Less may've meant normal terrestrial TV from a mast, whoops, apologies.

Re: Watching Freeview

UK Gold has been on my freeview box since I got it and always required a subscription fee. So not all freeview is free - 98% is but they have added some channels that require payment.

Re: Watching Freeview

Would you adam and eve it? I just reset my freeview system which is on my Laptop, this was to tune in that new Channel 4, channel called 4Seven!

Low and behold what have I got new as well - 3 Porn Channels - which were not on the system before - so they've now put these 3 new sex channels on freeview! Bloody disgraceful you can't take them off! Who says I want this cheap titilation?
