Angry Well we said it would happen and it has

Dam Busters dog to be renamed Digger for remake of iconic film because N-word might offend Americans | Mail Online

Well it was debated some time ago when it was heard there was to be a remake of the war time film The Dam Busters and its happened Guy Gibson's much loved dog, Nigger will be renamed Digger wonder if the next thing will be to call the black ball in snooker the darker coloured one

Heard about this and I can't say I'm pleased. It might not be the most politically correct name for a dog but The Dam Busters is historically accurate and all the characters featured played some part in real life events leading up to the air raids. Where do you stop in altering names have been deemed too rude for modern audiences?

Camp Freddie? Dr Lipschitz? Even Mark Twain and Jane Austen's novels are getting a makeover so that any passing reader with a weak heart won't be shocked into paralysis by such shocking prose as was written over 100 years ago.

In my opinion the world has become over-populated with the easily offended.

Who's playing his wife Molly, or as he affectionately calls her in the original film, Coon?

We might not like what's gone on in the past historically, but try and change it at your peril.

As posted above, when the original film was released in the States, the dog's name was overdubbed so he became Trigger.
