Austin Caulfield

happy days at St Mary's. People I knew.. Miss Heaney head, fearsome. Mr Cosgrave Mr Vandome, Mr Bleasedale Miss Pollit Miss Smith. Pupils. Mike Coffee,Michael White.june Entwistle, joe Bradshaw tony Borwick judy and Mary Martin. Matthew. Farmers son. Joe Blackledge.and many more. Around 10 of us once played wag and went to watch Blackburn Rovers. The following morning we all lined up at assembly 6 on each hand and banned from football OMG.one year Mr Vandome took a gang of us over Hellvellyn and striding edge. Fantastic. I wish I could remember more names. I m 72 now and luckily still healthy having survived colon cancer 6 years now, touch wood..live now in a small village called Croft. Nr Warrington. Built up a successful trucking business over many years till I retired.. Now love to travel all over Europe by caravan. Just me and my wife. Hope some one reads this and reciprocates. Regards to all St Mary's pupils around 1948 to 1954. Austin Caulfield.

Re: Austin Caulfield

I don't know you Austin and wasn't around Accrington in your earlier days. I do know your haulage business very well and used to see your lorries on the road a lot during my long career as a tanker driver.
I retired in 1998 but still have a keen interest in the older haulage companies and British lorries... I wish you all the best in your retirement and happy caravanning. I bet your drivers used to cus and swear held up behind them.

No doubt someone on here will know you from school days and reply.

Re: Austin Caulfield

Give us a bit more detail, Austin - where did you live ? Which senior school did you go to? Email; [email protected] to find out if they have any photos of St Mary's classes and cost of copying/sending to you.

I remember your unusual name - I am the same age as you.
Did you spend your childhood in Ossy?
I am Margaret Rothwell.
