Used to live in Accy
Hiya,
What a great surprise to find this website - I think its fantastic!! I was brought up in Accrington and left 13 years ago to widen ny horizens (university, work, men lol). Anyway I am planning to come home for good in the next couple of months with my young daughter. Unfortunately she will have a southern accent but am sure that will change. I looked with great interest at the photos esp of coppice where i spent some glorious days of my childhood. Actually brought a tear to my eye. I hope to share some of my happier times with my daughter and to have a fresh start in my home town. From what I've seen it seems alot has changed not to mention the house prices but hopefully the northern friendliness is still at the heart. It would be great to make some new friends perhaps as I'm leaving alot behind. |

Welcome to the forum Audrey. I'm sure you'll find northern folk just as friendly as they ever were when you move back but there have certainly been a lot of changes in the town, not necessarily for the better in all cases.

Thanks for all the kind messages of hello. Am interested in what kind of things have changed in Accy and why aren't some of them NOT for the best. Also anyone can recommend any decent Primary Schools (Iwent to St Johns and then Spring Hill but gathered thats been knocked down)????
