£1 for a can of emerge

Got off bus down church at the NHS place and where the launderette is on the other side of the road there is a shop on the same block. I wanted a drink to take to gym with me and an energy drink for after. I thought emerge is a cheap drink so i'l get a can of that.
The guy said £1,
I couldnt believe it these can's are only 20-30p down asda or netto. My friend says shops can sell them for what they want, is this true that they can make so much profit this way?

I suppose if people are willing to pay it....

Most places want to be competitive tho nowadays to get custom

Maybe they don't need so many customers with the amount they charge

Re: £1 for a can of emerge

What's with an energy drink after the gym ? Skimmed milk or protein shake would be much better. Bananna or yoghurt would go down well as well.

I think Cashy was referring to all the exercise that can be had for now, running, lifting, gardening(feel free to come and do mine if you don't have one! )

Re: £1 for a can of emerge

If they are selling it at over inflated prices and people still buy it, perhaps they should pour it out of the can and in to a mug

Re: £1 for a can of emerge

The only reason they charge such extortionate prices is because people will pay it, if no one did and they were left on the selves the price would soon come down

Re: £1 for a can of emerge

Its still cheaper than a can of red bull in the smaller shops. (Emerge is 33p a can in asda at the moment) I do also like the taste of these energy drinks (and did used to go through quite a few a day) but a fizzy drink is not the best thing to drink during or after excersize

Better with jelly beans for the sugar, and packet of crisps for the salt.
So my marathon running friend told me.
