I recall the original layout of Dill Hall before the motorway.
The original route went past the garage (now in a cul-de-sac) and the houses nearest the lights are known as Manor Place which branched off the main route.
Looking on Google maps I can see that 21 is the last house standing before the motorway - several before it were demolished.

So are we thinking that 21 Manor Place used to be 21 Dill hall lane before the bypass was built

Google maps is wrong, what is shown as manor place is Dill Hall Lane. The first pic shows 21 Dill Hall on the end. In Pic 2, the red line is where Dill Hall used to run and the yellow line is Manor Place.

Gpick24 is right.
Why doi you ask?
My long suffering Fiancee's family lived there from the late 1960's until 2005.
All the time they lived there the address was 21 Dill Hall Lane, looks like the infallible Google has got it wrong, again.

Another little tip Bob most if not all streets are numbered odd on the left hand side leaving the town center, the only exception to this I know of is Warner St, they have been renumbered twice in its history, in the early days Abbey St was was regarded as the main street in New Accrington, and No. 1 stared at the Abbey St end, they once changed them round from bottom to top then changed them again top to bottom.

Hi Retlaw, Fountain Street and, I think, Garbett Street are two exceptions to the rule as they say.

There does seem to have been a proper system relating to street planning, even before incorporation in 1878

I have been tracing my family tree and around 1900 my grandad lived at 21 Dill Hall lane.

Some houses in that area have been demolished to make room for the new road.
