If not. Does anyone know where the nearest is? I fancy a hobby to keep me out of trouble!

Sorry, I can't help but if you look at this webpage it mentions a "local" wood carver. Maybe if you contact the foundation they might point you in the right direction.

I notice some plant nurseries stock carved wood items - the people who supplied the goods must have got their skill from somewhere. It doesn't hurt to ask.
