any car mechanics on or does anyone know one?
bascially the ignition key is stuck in the barrel in the 'on position', so we have to tow it/jump start it to get it going and stall it to stop which isnt practical in anyway at all..the car is a picasso
so does anyone know someone who can fix such a thing - sooner the better as the car is needed for work! thanks |

Does the car have an immobiliser installed? A lot of cars need the key to be programmed to the it so you may need a decent specialist or auto electrician. |

I would have thought that you need a locksmith , rather than a mechanic G.G . they will take the barrel out and then take the remains of the key out , and make a new key for you .

The barrel will probably just unbolt, the harder bit now is that teh keys are electronically linked to ECUs as a anti theft thing.

Try Simon at Affordable Locksmiths is in Yellow erPages. Reasonably priced & mobile service. Deals with a few garages around here.
