Eurostar connections from the North-west

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a direct connection to the Eurostar trains (Channel tunnel) to Brussels from Accrington/Preston railway stations or do you have to transit through London , changing stations , separate ticket bookings etc.
Thanks

Re: Eurostar connections from the North-west

I don't know for sure, but imagine you'll have to trek across London from Euston to Waterloo, to catch the Eurostar.

From Accrington to the continent you'll be carried by four separate companies.

It's like Mr Beeching never happened.

Thanks G , confirms what I have been finding , would have thought there would have been a link-up somewhere to connect with the regions ,seems if you dont live in London or South of the Thames the 'chunnel' is not much use to anyone

Re: Eurostar connections from the North-west

There have been talks for years about regional Eurostar services but the polticians constantly fail to push the situation, why should they when they are keeping the people of South East England happy, the rest of the country can go whistle as is the case with most of this countries decision making in Westminster

Apparently a junction has been built at St Pancras to join the rest of the country up but no immediate plans to use it. If anyone is planning a Eurostar trip later in the year be aware that St Pancras will be the new station instead of Waterloo.
