I seem to remember that the first traffic lights in Accrington were at the S-Bend by the old railway bridge at the bottom of Ormerod St. Cannot find any reference in "Accrington Chronology" book so can anyone help. Would also be interested to know the date.
...late 60's? When did H & B become Platt? I though that was early '70's......or is my memory, amongst other things, just failing to work as I get older?
I can't find anything on the web either about traffic lights.......key "traffic lights accrington" into google and you get 475 different instructions on driving through town and turning left/right at this or that set of lights.....nowt on the history, though.
