How do you go about...

I have been looking for a summer job and the chances of finding someone to employ me for 2 months is pretty low so I've been thinking of what else I could do to earn some cash and thought I could look into making some money providing tuition on how to use computers/fixing computers etc General tech handyman sort of thing.

I can't see it being a huge earner but if it puts some money in my pocket I'd be happy.

I am asking if anyone knows the legalities as in taxes, would I be classed as self employed etc etc. Also any qualifications needed to for example provide an adult IT class

Thanks

no qualifications needed however if you teach children you probably need CRB, I think you can get round this if you insist that the parent stays with you the whole time you are there.

years ago I did a bit of this, I just put a poster in the window of my house and had a decent number of calls from it.

From a tax perspective, call the taxman, they will probably want you to do a form at the end of the next tax year declaring any earnings/grants etc.

Good Luck and TBH you will be surprised about summer working, A lot of companies look for students to fill in whilst their permie staff take their hols etc. I never struggled to find summer jobs back when I was a lad...

Re: How do you go about...

I reckon yer better off just doing some seasonal gardening work for householders
I have to track someone down to do this for me every year
They just come everycouple week in summer months and just do a general tidy up
End of summer they just generally bill me about £65 for the season
