Making sculptures to go on the Coppice

Hiya all

I'm new to this Accrington web so you'll have to excuse any post mistakes etc....

I'm in my 3rd year of a B.A Hons Fine Art degree and I'm basing my last years work on memories of the Coppice, and I was hoping to get some information and history of the Coppice, and also maybe get some old photos of locals friends/family up there to base my sculptures on? With permission of course.

I'm not entirely sure on how to go about asking for these photos other than just post a thread on here, so If there is another way please guide me I will be posting later on describing the sculptures I'd like to make.

Thanks

Sonnart

Oh dear. Oh dear. Oh dear.

It's bad enough we have just been betrayed by our own MP and fellow member of this website...but now this? Am I reading this right? Someone wants to stick something on top of the coppice?

Sculptures, yes....but not on top of the Coppice, please.

This, I think, is different.

They said they're 'basing their sculptures on memories of the Coppice'.

Not stickin' em up there. Hopefully.

My memories are of terrible wind.

You're free to incorporate that.

The thread title clearly says 'sculptures to go on the Coppice'

Happens to me when I eat onions ... but I don't see how you can incorporate that into a sculpture

It does. But being a little more generous, I presumed they'd made a mistake.

Especially after posting...

Also, the chances of them permanently erecting their sculpures up there are just fractionally greater than zero.

Re: Making sculptures to go on the Coppice

my fondest memory of the coppice is its appearance in oranges are not the only fruit where the leading actress scaled the entire height of the coppice in 4 or 5 small steps. If only that had been the case when i used to run up it for cross country lol.

as for sticking things up there on the coppice we have already seen off one idiot who thought it needed a giant space ship or wa sit giant crop circles lol.

Groove will be approaching the council to have the word 'GROOVE' in big white letters on the coppice- like the Hollywood sign....these would be visible from trains passing through the town and make Groove a house old name.

Re: Making sculptures to go on the Coppice

I think wooden sculptures can look quite pleasing.

Plus I have a spare bag of nails.

Re: Making sculptures to go on the Coppice

I think we should stick a gravestone up there, overlooking the town, with the following inscription:

Here lies the body of Hyndburn Democracy.

Murdered by G Jones, 24.10.2011.

A day that will live in infamy
