you wont get channel 5 or dave but you will get quite a few yes like itv2, itv 3, bbc 3 etc

you now need a "free to Air" card in it I believe, I think they are about 25 quid one off fee.
your alternative is a freesat box, s/h should be < 50 quid now as the SD ones are only 60 odd quid new. |

If you want to get loads of `free` channels why bother with an old sky box?personally i`d go for a Freeview + box................

if you want a few extra channels liek dave then you have to buy a sky freeview card but you get plenty without one

Freesat is definitely the way forward, plus several of the free channels are already in HD. It will cost around £300 for a Freesat recorder and a dish to be installed but you'll be set up for years after that with no subscription charge. Don't buy a Thomson box though, very poorly made.
The only real difference with Sky is that you have even more channels that you don't want to watch and you'll be feathering the nest of the company that is gobbling up all the sports events and charging a fortune for people to watch them. |
