Re: thinking of moving

IMHO, Baxenden is generally a nice place to live, can be a bit local town for local people at times but on the whole its a nice place to live, Altham I can't comment on. Spring Hill is a bit of a contrast at the moment ( I grew up there for the 1st 26 years of my life and my mum still lives there so I can speak from experience). There are a fair few 'unsocial' types. Depending on which part of the estate you may be fine, I would avoid being near Pickup street if I was you.

Re: thinking of moving

Altham West is near to the FES but the barrets homes are in Altham, and you get to this estate by going along Burnley Rd in Clayton.

There are 2 lots of delevopments in that area and I think the other is Permission or something like that.

They are all at the back of me LOL not a bad area but not that many shops most are on Pickup St in Clayton so you have to travel to shop, bank etc

Think maybe time Clayton got a good sized store built

Re: thinking of moving

baxenden is ok, lived on bamford crescent just before bash and loved it was dead quiet on there cos its not a thoroughfare, also have many friends up bash and used to visit regular, they all love it. also a couple of decent locals, butchers, post office, etc. can,t say about altham have only visited a friends in one of them barret houses, just a personal opinion think there crap.
