Yes, Gordon there is a Greenhalgh's in centre of Accy - forgot about that one. There's Savouries on Whalley Road as well, might be right up the original poster's street as it's on the way to Stanley

Greenhalgh's in the town centre...excellent steak & ale pies...but overall, you'd have to go a long way to beat Martin's on Union Road.

The Daddy of them all for me is a Greggs sausage roll - They are greasy and probably one of the unhealthiest things you could eat but they don't half taste good.

Can anyone remember Lockwoods on Union Rd in Ossy? The little bakery was opposite Ossy Mills where there is now a Chinese restaurant. We used to go there at dinner time from school. The potato pies were the best I've ever had and they were huge too! Also, Achaskis on Blackburn Rd West End was an excellent little family run bakers. Sadly, both now gone. Shame the little bakeries seem to be dying off and taken over by franchises.

Liz was our neighbour and her son was a playmate in the seventies! A really nice lady.
