Re: What would you be.....
Problem with a career is that it is relatively simple to choose, but difficult and time consuming to achieve ... careers are a lot like women, you chase, you catch, and then wonder why you went to all the trouble I studied hard for years to get my degree ... (you can call me Doctor if you want a free beer) ... but when I got a job teaching at Queen's, I found that there was too much beaurocratic bs for my liking ... it came to a head when some officious idiot, Vice-Principal of Academic Affairs or something ... told me I had to set a final exam ... and this in a class of five students!!!!! (Not too many interested in Introduction to Medieaval Icelandic Language and Literature) ... I told him where to go and what mode of transport to take, and quit. Just too much non essential crap assosciated with the job. So I bought a couple of cabs, and ran a small and not very profitable business for a while .... but I was happy ... still am ... and even though I sold my cabs and leased out the plates, I still go out and drive, usually at night so I can see humanity at its most drunken and stupid level, and have a good laugh.

I would have liked to be a Game Warden or a Forest Ranger. In this dream line, I guess I would always had settle for being a . . . Lumberjack, then I'd be okay, sleep all night and . . . well, you get the picture. I love the knickers they wear!

Re: What would you be.....
I had my dream job for many many years managing music stores, I would give virtually anything to have it back.

Re: What would you be.....
I was in the Sea Cadets when I was younger
We went on a training course in Cornwall
I then decided I wanted to be a Naval Base Fire fighter, only to be told
I was too short and my eyesight was terrible
When I was even younger than that, I thought about hair dressing
Realised how much sweeping up you do before they let ya loose with the scissors
Then I really liked animals, so worked in pet shops for 6 years, when I started working

Re: What would you be.....
I'd love to be a butcher if money was no object, however I reckon I'd get bored with that too quickly
motorcycle racer is one I'd love a go at but I'm too fat and old to be competitive.
otherwise, the man who runs the deck chairs on a nice sunny beach somewhere, actualy I'd have 3 or 4 lots on different beaches so I can have a variety of views.
