When does Xmas start in you`re house?
just wondering as it was the 1st yesterday and everyone on my estate is rushing to put up their decorations(inside and out!) when do accywebbers think xmas should start? i think this year i`ll be holding off the wife and kids till about the 15th(hopefully) how long do we need it to last?

I was always under the impression it was 12 days before, but other half did it yesterday! Not my department, if you missed her, she was the one with a car full of tree and decorations, because of course last years aren't good enough! May as well have real tree, she changes it every year anyway.

My OH says 1st,but my mum always had the xmas decs up 12 days before n 12 days after the 25th so thats we will do.With having a toddler i dont want them for too long-i wonder if ANYTHING will survive to be used next year

It's my daughters birthday on the 10th, so we tended to do the decorations the weekend after this so as not to detract from her day.

well i put my tree up yesterday, and the bloody thing took 4 hours to put together (was going to say erect but i'd only get sarcastic comments from Neil) i have to put my tree up branch by branch and seen as its over 6ft tall it took ages, it looks gorgeous though
so my christmas starts on the 1st of December, i've also finished buying all the christmas pressies so i'm all done now

Why is the song called the 12 days of christmas
it should be the 24 or 36 days of christmaswhen we where young they allways put ours up 12 days before and taken them down on the 6th jan 12 days after and so did we when the kids where at home but now they have left and there is only Anne and me i will leave it to Anne to say when they are put up and taken down and find somewhere to hide while she does them.......
