I went out with an Irene Howard from Huncoat, but I think she attended Hyndburn Park. She married Andrew Nuttall (RIP)and became landlady of the Stop & Rest She will now be 71 or 72.

I know you Sean......I lived on Riley's Hill.....I have five brothers. Peter, Michael, Philip, James and John...and one sister Vanessa. Your Mum was called Edna....and you used to have a brown dog......I can't think of his name but I want to say Beezer(it was something beginning with B anyway )
Ma still lives on Riley's Hill

I welcome Sean's first posting and underlying pride in Woodnook - especially as his family are intertwined with mine. He may not be aware of it, so I am sending him his first private message (PM)

Re: WOODNOOK c.s. school

Hi Margaret, Would the surname be Duxberry? (sorry if misspelt). I used to live at No 5 Rothwell Ave and used to hang out Ma Mick, James and John from Rileys Hill.

Yes Malcolm...I was called Duxbury in the dim and distant past.
Malcolm, I don't think I know you.....but then there were many of my brothers pals that I didn't know.

And Sean.....I was drifting off to sleep last night and not thinking of anything when tha name of your brown dog popped into my head...It wasn't Beezer....and it didn't even begin with B. It was Topper.....or at least that is my memory.
