Barnes Family - Accrington

Barnes Family - Accrington

I am looking for descendents of James Barnes and Mary A. Barnes lived at 26 Pitt Street at the time of the 1901 Censes.

James and Mary had Six children at the time of the 1901 censes; Edward age 23. (born 1878) - Harriet age 20 (Born 1881) - Jacob age 19 (Born 1882) - John age 16 (Born 1885) - Ann age 10 (Born 1891) - Emily age 4. (Born 1897)

I am the Great, Great Grandson of Harriet Barnes; Harriet married my Great, Great Grandfather James Archibald Douglass in the December of 1900 at All Saints Church. Clayton le Moor’s.

Harriet died in 1948 and had lived in Stanley Street, Accrington. William died at the same address in 1955. I would welcome contact from any surviving descendents of any of the family.

Re: Barnes Family - Accrington

My Grandmothers maiden name is Barnes. She lived in Church when she was born. The family had a butchers shop. I will have to wait till this evening to ask my Mum names etc.

Re: Barnes Family - Accrington

Hmmmm... some coincidences here, but not sure how firm they are.

I had an aunt called Harriet Barnes (not the same one that you mention) and she was born in Stanley Street. Barnes was her married name and she lived in Avenue Parade (next street along).
