Lamb family
In researching my Hindle ancestry, the name of Jane Lamb crops up in the 1850s when she came to Acc from Christleton, Chester and married Enos Hindle. It is thought she came with a brother, for who I have no name, and he begat some little Lambs. Can you throw light on the Lambs of Acc, as they may all descend from the brother.? There appear to have been no Lambs in Acc before the 1850s.

Only thing I can help with Bob is, lived in William Street alongside a Mr and Mrs Lamb ..will have to search my memory for christian names. Think Mrs Lamb was something like Minnie, Millie ? They had one daughter called Cherylene (a little younger than myself). He had a fruit and vegetable business, but there was also another Mr. Lamb who also had the same type of business in Accrington, and not sure if related.
Will try and find out a little more.

Re: Lamb family
There was a John Lamb who had a butcher's shop, next door to Moor End Post Office in Oswaldtwistle in the 1970's, if that's any help.

When I was very young there was a weekly free paper, I think it was called the Advertiser. I remember there was always an advert in it for Alan (the Apple Lad) Lamb who sold fruit and veg . Could this be that person? I always thought he had a shop in Oswaldtwistle but I may be wrong.

Re: Lamb family
Alan Lamb could be another Westender or the one that traded in Accrington ?
Name rings a bell.
The Mr. Lamb who lived in my street was called Drury .. texted my friend in Spain who lived next-door-but-one to them. Did let Bob know, as an unusual name, so may be easy for him to discount or add him to his Family Tree.
