trying to trace corr family from clayton...my grandmother was a corr who married richard whittaker...she had a brother who was a priest called hugh corr and possibly a neice marie corr who was nun and a nephew gerrard corr
Maybe nothing to do with you but the Corr name is known oin Blackburn area as Butchers. They had one on East Park Rd, near T'hole in Wall pub till recently another on Leamington Rd. think they also had others, maybe B/b market?
There are several avenues of approach which can be tried, but a researcher will want to know about dates - when was your grandmother born? There will be a book in which the priest is listed and this will provide a starting point. The local family history society meets in Accrington library. Have you tried phoning people called Corr listed in the directory ?- BTs website is a very useful tool.
