Missing Friend Akhtar Mahmood

His family owned a corner shop on the corner of Lonsdale St and Lower Antley St (would have been on the left hand side of Lonsdale St as you went up towards the railway bridge). There was 'big Akhtar' the older brother, Akhtar the middle brother and a younger brother called Anwar, this would have been around the mid 70's. (There was a sister but never knew her name).

We kept in touch upto the 80's when he went to Stafford Uni. Before owing the shop they lived on Newark St. Both big and little Akhtars went to Rhyddings, I did hear that the youngest brother Anwar joined the police and was stationed in Accrington.

If anyone remembers them or is still in contact let me know.

Re: Missing Friend Akhtar Mahmood

I knew an Akhtar Mahmood who went to St Nicholas Primary but haven't seen him since the 80's. Think he might have worked in the Broadway?

Akhtar is my cousin and is currently living on Lister Street Accrington. Anwar left the police and is running a Jam farm in Shropshire I think . Big Akhtar as you call him is still in Accrington and married to Trish living off Richmond road.
