Ronald Digby school teacher

Ronald was my uncle and I am wondering if anyone has information about him and his family. He taught at Backup and Rawtenstall Grammar I think but it was a long time ago.

Re: Ronald Digby school teacher

I remember a Ronald Digby being on the Accrington Cricket Club in the 70's who had been a teacher up to retirement. He seemed very well known at the club and his son used to be at every match but I think he died several years ago.

Re: Ronald Digby school teacher

There used to be a Digby, not sure of his first name who was a maths teacher at St Marys Grammer in Blackburn in the early seventies. He would have been mid fifties then and used to live on Avenue Parade in Accrington. Don't know if that's the same guy but he was there when I left in 75.

Re: Ronald Digby school teacher

I was privaldge to know a Ronald Digby. He lived in Avenue Parade, next to top block and played snooker at Cambridge St Methodist Institute in the 1960s. He had a son who had some affiliation with Liverpool University but can't remember his name. I recently read a wonderful poem Ron wrote about the coppice. I will send the reference when I return from my travels at the end of the month.
