Still looking for the Nixon family

I am still looking for relatives and/or friends of the Nixon family. My grandma was Rachel Nixon and my grandfather was Peter Nixon. My dad Walter Nixon died in 2004 and I am desperately trying to recover some family history. I lived in Accrington from 1958 when I was born until 1969 when we immigrated to Canada. My mom and dad, Walter and Shirley (nee Jones) were there all their lives. They worked at Silk Velvet for many years. Dad was quite the soccer player and mom had a dance school called Jones School of Dancing. Would anyone know anything about my family over there? Any information would help.

Just wondered Nadine if the place you say they worked was actually called 'Silk Velvet' or perhaps somewhere like Giron Freres ? Might help to jog a few memories for people if it were.

Thank you so much. Just called my mom and yes it was in fact called Giron Freres.

Mom just telephoned me and said the name of the place where they worked was Bob Martin's Silk Velvet in Blackburn.
