Trying to locate family

Ive been trying to track down my father and 2 brothers whom i have never met, has anyone any ideas or expierience in tracking down missing relatives coz im finding it dificult.

Do you have their names and a last know location? Not such a daft question as some might think. There are sites that might help you in your search, obviously you could post names, last know addresses, places of work or schools on this site or the Friends and Family Tree sites. There is also the option of placing an ad in the personal section of the local paper. This is one site that helped me when I was looking www.192.com. But be prepared for the fact that they might not want to know, which to my deepest regret I found.

If you can give me some more details, I can posibly point you in the right direction. Are your family possibly in the Hyndburn area or another part of the country

Don't the Salvation Army provide a service for contacting lost relatives.

if you pm what names you have i can run them through a database i have of the eletoral role and a few other sources

forname and surname or 1st initial and surname at a push

i can copy down all the peopel registered in the uk on the electoral role but i am afraid my database is 2 years out of date but as long as they havnt moved recently and were registered on the electoral role they shoudl be on it

ive tracked down quite a few peopel with ths database for myself and others
