16 yr olds birthday parties....

would you give your kids the parties like these received AND the pressies?

http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/you/ar...day-brats.html

They are spoilt brats. I couldnt believe it when i saw what they got as pressies never mind the parties ... Ok one of them instead of pressies from her mates got them to donate money to a charity but the others .....

Im just glad i dont have kids and expected to give a party like that.

Re: 16 yr olds birthday parties....

I don't think it's the kids fault, they have obviously been brought up to think this is ok, and they are worth it

The parents can afford it but think it is well over the top.

adopted her no-present policy so that she could ‘give something back as many people don’t have much’. ‘I was having second thoughts about refusing presents at first,’ she says, ‘but when the donations raised so much money, it made me feel good.’
Obviously not good enough to donate the value of the watch instead of receiving the item.
PLUS she didn't make the donation as it was money from the guests so basically NOTHING came out of her pocket did it?

They live in another world, don't they?

The parents obviously have a lot of money so in comparison to us they probably only spent on their daughters' birthdays what we spend on ours. £11,000 to them will be like £100 to us.

I don't think the children of any of us would ever expect presents/parties like that.

Mine certainly won't anyway. I read in the Observer about stretch limos picking up 7 year olds for birthday parties and I think how ridiculous at that age.....what will they be doing for their 18th?

Re: 16 yr olds birthday parties....

Only over the weekend it was stated on TV that the average wedding now costs £250,000. What about the girl who put the fact she was having a party on Face Book, there were 400 gate crashes who went on to reck the place, the young lady said she though she'd be grounded forever, you bet
