Britcliffe monthly.

I was delighted to receive through my letterbox this afternoon a calendar from Peter Britcliffe.

I hope this isn't deemed a bribe for my vote, as I already have a calendar.

Now a diary with a pen, that would really make me sit up and take notice.:)

I got one of those last year. It almost didn't touch the floor before being whisked up and dumped in the paper save bag which was waiting outside for collection.

I wonder if I'll receive one this year????? lol

On closer inspection of our glorious leader's gift, I notice that one of the twelve photographs of him also shows him with Romps, Neil and little Emily Garinda. They've been used as a political tool, I hope they gave their consent?

Sadly anyone not lucky enough to receive their calendar will be relieved to hear that July doesn't feature Peter in a pair of tiny speedos.:)

I'd be delighted to receive such an image, whether by card or calendar.

The sender is clearly someone with good taste in the arts, and possibly a sense of humour.

The picture is a Pre-Raphaelite oil from the Victorian period of English art, by (Lord) Frederic Leighton .

Clearly, there is some prefigurative iconography involving Accrington Stanley's forthcoming glorious summer, as the work is entitled " Flaming June ".

I'm jealous. I haven't got one. :(

Oooops !

You don't mean to tell me that "Flaming June" is really Garinda's avatar ?

So what was the image on the "January" page of Councillor Peter Britcliffe's calendar, please ?

garinda 04-01-2006 21:36

Re: Britcliffe monthly.

Romps you are May.:)

Sadly the twelve images are of Peter Britcliffe doing good deeds hither and thither, and not paintings by Lord Leighton, a new avatar I happened to choose before I started this thread.

Willow unless you are moving to Ossy I doubt you'll be getting one of the caledars. You can gladly have mine though.:)

Henry, January is Peter kicking his heels up at an old people's Christmas party.

Yes it is my new avatar. It's not my favourite painting by Lord Leighton, that honour would go to 'Bianca', but she's a bit too pasty looking for a cold January day.

Errrrrm, two small questions. Who pays for the production and distribution of these calendars? Could they not be regarded as election material?
