When we went down Accrington at 9am this morning, the fire engines were racing along Hyndburn road.
They pulled in at the Arndale and it was clear that even though it was early, the Arndale had been evacuated.
Rumour has it that there was a fire in Iceland(the shop, not the country:D)....and this was why the Arndale was closed.

It stayed closed for about an hour. So if you shop in the Arndale today and there is a whiff of smoke......you'll know why.

sorry that the pictures weren't more dramatic......no smoke, no flames and the firemen, well...... they were fully dressed and I only got a back view....sorry Jen......I know you like men in uniform:D(but Spuggie is best anyway)

There was a fire in iceland, not sure of the how and whats but have had it confirmed that it was in iceland and they were evacuated for around an hour and a half.

And there was me thinking it all looked quite 'tame'.......the fire must've done a bit of damage then for the shop to be closed all day.....unless of course it was closed to allow for the investigators and the insurance assessors to do their job.
