Remember

A Dutch friend sent me this, she is not Jewish. I think it is thought provoking and was unsure where to post it. I am sure that I ill be corrected if it is in the wrong place:-

When I was a kid, Ike was president, I couldn't ever imagine why he was so popular. Maybe this has
something to do with it:
General Eisenhower Warned Us
It is a matter of history that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the
death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the
camps and even made to bury the dead.
He did this because he said in words to this effect:
'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say
that this never happened'
This week, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims
it never occurred. It is not removed as yet.. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.
This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the 6 million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests Who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beat, experimented on and humiliated' while the German people looked the
other way!
Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth',it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.?

Re: Remember

Its a fraud, that's been sent for the last three years, at least.

Besides the figures being incorrect, regarding the estimated total number of victims of the Holocaust, or mention of groups like Gypsies, or homosexuals, there has never been such a debate in Parliament, regarding the removal of the subject off the national curriculum, for fear of offending Muslims.

It was probably dreamt up by some spotty teenage Herbert, to gain support for the B.N.P.

99.99% of these round robin emails spout utter rubbish.

Re: Remember

'Teaching of the Holocaust is compulsory in all secondary schools between the ages of 11 and 14 and can also be studied in GCSE History courses when studying the Second World War. There is also scope to cover it in English, Politics lessons and Citizenship classes. The Holocaust Educational Trust’s project is extremely valuable and one I am delighted the Government is able to support.”

Re: Remember

Don't worry though, the Daily Mail was taken in as well, and used information from the fake email in a story they published in 2007.

'The researchers gave the example of a secondary school in an unnamed northern city, which dropped the Holocaust as a subject for GCSE coursework.
The report said teachers feared confronting 'anti-Semitic sentiment and Holocaust denial among some Muslim pupils.'

Re: Remember the Holocaust

In the various schools I attended I really can`t recall being taught about the concentration camps we (the Brits) set up in sunny South Africa for those nasty Boers. We were not taught about it because the powers that be swept it under the carpet. There is plenty of film, written and sadly fewer eye witness accounts of the Holocaust, no matter how much the Allies denied knowledge at the time. To deny it is to say Ghenghis Khan was a bit rough. (But was he, was he real or imagined?.)

Yes it is Barrie (correct spelling) Yates who was at Accrington Grammar School 1950-55. I have sent lol1944 a private message re his real name and attendance at AGS as I am the Old Boys' membership secretary. I have a dislike for the use of avatars
