council tax bill by E.mail

Received a letter last week from the "you will do as you are told Hyndburn council"

Quote, "We are phasing out paper bills for Council Tax and require an email address for your account so that we can send you an e-bill for your 2017/18 Council Tax", unquote.

Not a polite request, more of an order.

Today, Taddy rings Hyndburn Council intent on giving the (you will do as you are told brigade), an ear bashing, the polite lady who answered the phone replied to my Billy Goat Gruff tone with, "it is quite alright Mr --------,don't worry, we will carry on sending you a paper bill".

Taddy retreats, chastised without being chastised with the polite tones of a young lady, (sounded young anyway), firmly fixed into his subconcious.

Hyndburn Council (1), Taddy (0). Never mind, i'm still happy,
Your's Taddy.

I suspect their paper collection will be a little larger over the whole of Hyndburn.

This is a very sensible way to reduce costs - stationery. printing and delivery do not come free.

I approve

No they do not come free, we pay for it.

As far as I know - When you go and pay over the counter (as not everyone has a bank account etc) your bill gets stamped with the payment.
A tad harder to do with an email.
