Is it just me that is sick of the big deal the Media makes every year now of exam results?its completely over the top as far as i'm concerned.

The only exam results I seem interested in these days come from my doctor.

Cashy, it happens every year.
This year it is more relevant because the exams have changed into something that we experienced...not coursework based results, but results based on what you actually have in your head.
All that said, it has been tough for the youngsters as this is the first time for a long time that this has been done...so those who have not done quite so well feel hard done by.

The young folk that I know have all worked very hard and it has paid off handsomely for them...so to them Well done!

I am not disputing that, i just find it a damn nuisance rammed down every year. so they have worked hard to get good results, did our generation not? its whats expected if yeh want to progress.

Of course our generation worked hard....you know that without asking...but we both know it was far different back then.
While we BOF's might get irritated by the media telling us all about it....it is good for the youngsters to celebrate their successes...and where they didn't do as well as expected ...make plans to regroup.

Nothing against the kids celebrating at all, its the ruddy media making a big deal of things.why should it be shoved down our necks?

I'm referring to the T.V. news media which i normally like to watch, papers i just dont buy when they are full of rubbish like that.

Cashy, I watch very little TV...and most of the news stuff I read online.

got to be on your side cashy over this results issue. glad the kids or should i say students have worked hard for their results, but didn,t anyone else did since exams started. hardly groundbreaking news and as for newspapers i only buy the sun when they are giving away tokens for cheap holidays.

I can still remember the head teacher at Junior school and the headmaster at Grammar School giving us the sealed envelope to take home for our parents to open. God forbid if they had already been opened. Father used to study my results and look sternly at me then break out in a big smile when he said "Well done son".

Have to agree with you Cashy, I think O### S## is Grrrrrreat but I don't go around shoving it down peoples throats.
