Nothing surprises me.
There should have been someone on the door asking for NHS ID badges.....and sending everyone else packing.(first taking pictures of the selfish people and circulating it to all other stores)

I'm surprised that none have done it either.

I am too...it would be huge kudos to who ever does do it.
Worth far more than any TV adverts.

Re: Corona Virus

below is a copy of an e-mail I have sent to the CEO of tesco.
I hope it gets to him and that perhaps he can act on it.

Dear Mr Lewis,
These are difficult times for everyone.
But for NHS staff they are doubly difficult.
We should be looking after those who are on the front line looking after us in our hour of need.
Can I run an idea past you?
What I am going to suggest would hit the front of every newspaper...and would find favour with the general public too.

I am really very surprised that no supermarket has come up with the idea of taking the groceries to the nurses and hospital staff.
Surely it would not be too difficult to take a large lorry to all the hospitals....sell the stuff that staff might need...(especially the staples), on the premises where the staff are...and think of the kudos that would gain for whichever supermarket tried to do this.
Would there be any better advert for a supermarket that really cares about getting food and supplies to NHS staff
It would ensure that supplies got to the people who we are relying on.
I hope this gets to you and not to your spam file.
I will be e-mailing the CEO's of other supermarkets to run this idea past them too...so please consider my suggestion.
With Best Regards(stay safe)

Well you know when it's serious when McDonalds announce it is now closing all their restaurants by 7pm tomorrow.....

There was no dining in from thursday last week, but you could still go in and get a take away.
It is not a place i go to....I know the adverts say it is all good stuff but somehow it doesn't feel like it to me.

Well done, excellent idea......

Re: Corona Virus

Thank you Ryewolf...I know just how soul destroying it must be to find shelves empty when you have pulled your tripes out looking after very sick people.
I have been there...it is little enough and it may do nothing at all to help.

Yes, but now it's a full closure, no going in and no drive thru. I only usually get a coffee or tea when I'm out with my camera...

Oh dear...there are going to be some very disappointed young folk on the planet.

I suppose the drinks are OK...and cheaper than lots of places.

Oh Dear! End of the world for some (not me). The upside is the end of the queue that snakes back through their carpark onto the main road and delays access to my usual supermarket and all points west. Yippee!:)

I really doubt that anyone will lose weight in this crisis....unless there is food rationing that is. Or people get too sick to be able to eat.

What do bored people do?
Bored people who are not working, not exercising, not walking anywhere??

They graze, they sit watching mind numbing puerile to programs, they won't be eating apples or sticks of celery....they will eat crisps, biscuits, toffees.

Many folk do not know how to cook from scratch so will be buying in deep fried chicken from takeaways, pizza's....you know all that healthy food.

I have plans to make soup using the bones of the chicken.....and a few veggies.
I will cook my own pies....with pastry I have made myself.
I will not be sitting watching TV.....I will be crafting.....ok, that might mean sitting, but both hands and brain will be so busy that I 'forget' to eat.....and you cannot eat biscuits with your hands full of PVA glue.

I may have to purchase a new bottle opener with the number of bottles of Hobgoblin that I anticipate opening over my enforced incarceration,(if there is any left on the shelves that is).
