I'm so glad you said that. I know squirrel are classed as vermin, but I think they are cute too!

Thank goodness I never meet any lambs before they are prepared for the pot, just a larger version of squirrels covered in wool.

Though they do tend to fall out of the trees more often than the squirrels.

Squirrel and Leek soup doesn't sound quite right.....neither does Squirrel noodle soup.

I have frequently(and by accident - my lamps are dimming a bit) eaten bread that has mould on it....usually toasted, so not that easy to spot.

I hate throwing bread away....I hate throwing anything away( a poverty stricken childhood to blame for this).
I got a squirrel from the farmer's market and it's still in the freezer. Will let you know what it's like when I've cooked it. Think the slow cooker will do.

They also sell free range haggis, may contain shot... escapees from Scotland, shot on the edge of the Solway.

Haggis Margaret, its lovely stuff, its just a little annoying when all the shoot isn't removed before cooking, it don't half get stuck in your teeth. They'll soon be an abundance of fresh haggis in the shops as the Haggis shooting season opens in a few weeks time

John, I have only made the mistake of eating(or perhaps I should say, trying to eat)it once.
I can gag just thinking about it.
I am told it is an acquired taste. It is something I am not even going to contemplate acquiring a taste for it!

I've told you before, you need to beat them with a big stick, not shoot them, it ruins the meat.
