What a shame, as a teenager I remember him introducing The Stones in the Park Documentary and his first words were,
"Please remember this programme is going out late at night so consider your neighbours and turn your volume to Loud!"

R.I.P. Tony

Was that the free concert they did in Hyde Park, to commemorate Brian Jones, in 1969?

Never knew it was on TV. Cool.

It was the one that they used Hells Angels for their security and a good time was had by all.

Lol, I have watched it since, but only remembered it because Ossie Clarke made the dress Mick Jagger wore that day.

I had the pleasure of meeting the man in the Hacienda along with Mark E Smith and his ex-wife Brix many a moon ago,I must admit,I admired what he did for the NW music industry,he gave us Joy Division and New Order,he can keep 'The Happy Mondays' btw, woeful,I still can't forgive him for making the kids cry when he announced(with great joy) that Bill Shankley had resigned

RIP Tony Wilson
