Re: B T.

What do you expect. They put my line rental up near 3 years ago, on the pretext they were offering new internet service for low usage customers, bull**** nothing changed other than the cost of the line rental,.
Every time bt offers reduced prices or so called free calls, they just increase charges in other areas, so at the end of the financial year they've still made the same or more profits.

What I would like to know is what part of the line am I renting, the length of wire from our house to the nearest junction box or exchange, or for the whole country, if its to the nearest exchange then I've paid enough for my wire to be made of gold. Why should we have to pay any line rental they want to provide a service they should provide the wires for free.

I'm now with the post office and pay less line rental, and calls to other post office users are free any time for 59 minutes.

I'm with BT and am roughly paying roughly 15% LESS than I was 3 years ago. I have BT Homehub, pay DD and have no paper bills - just online billing. Also have free calls after 6pm and at w/ends. Can't fault 'em really!!

The very same set up here phil. Paying less also. Rang and told them last year I was thinking of going elsewhere for my Internet and they chucked a B.T. Vision box at me to keep me sweet. No complaints with them myself.

Re: B T.

Have to admit, I don't really see the issue. I don't use those services either, so they don't have any impact on me. Cost of line rental is a matter of a few pence per month between providers, so it's not worth switching.

Biggest change for me was switching from BT Internet to Sky, which is a saving of about £18 per month for me.

How does that work?? I'm with BT because we can't get cable. It really annoys me that we pay so more line rental and VAT and hardly use the phone! Our last bill was £173.00 absolute madness.

Line rental and VAT. We do have broadband too but its mainly line rental and VAT.

We've been thinking of changing broadband providers but we've never had any problems with BT's service so a little worried about changing.

I’m getting my broadband ( unlimited download - within reason ), the B.T Vision thingy and my normal calls for around £33 per month. Try going Direct Debit monthly, see if that cuts the cost.

How long a period was that for?

Line rental if paid for by DD is around £10.50/month inc VAT and even the most expensive broadband with BT is about £26/month inc VAT, so that's only £36.50/month.
