Re: Beside Seaside
Such a shame the weather spoiled the day, there were still quite a lot of people about on Broadway despite the rain. It was certainly more cheerful than normal

Re: Beside Seaside
I thought it was a big fat waste of time, when I went out at around 2pm there was nothing going on except 2 women valiantly trying to tie balloon animals in a force 6 gale and a load of empty wet deckchairs blowing across Broadway. Obviously not helped by the awful weather, and from what I can gather retail takings down about 6% compared to previous week. Please don't do it again, I will be out of a job !

Are you suggesting that retail takings were down because of this event?
If so, why?

Re: Beside Seaside
Not sure if it was the weather or the credit crunch or the fact that the good folk of Accy are scared of balloon animals but it was a very very quiet day throughout the town.

Isn't it the start of the Accrington holidays?
Maybe a lot of people have gone away on their hols.

Funny you should say that, we ended up buying Siobhan a pair of wellies off the stall on the market, just so that she could have a splash in the puddles without getting her socks and pants wet through.
She won't go past a puddle without jumping in it.
