Down the Turkish Drain

Yesterday we were treated to the revelation by the Chancellor of the Exchequer that our beloved country had run out of money. Indeed so strapped for cash are we that there will be no scope for Tax cuts to stimulate economic growth in the coming budget.

Times are hard and it is no surprise that belt tightening is the order of the day, no matter how painful it might be.

Which makes this little gem of a story all the harder to bear.....

First it was begging India to take aid money it didn't want to save civil service and parliamentary blushes and now this.

How much more of our hard earned is being chucked down the gurgler while we are having to make do and mend?

Explain to me again, Graham Jones, just why it is that you think continued membership of the EU is in Britians best interests.

I thought this was going to be about the 80 million pounds that Britain is giving to Turkey to repair the sewers there.
Turkey doesn't need money from the UK......they have a big manufacturing base and should be required to maintain their own sewerage system without any help from the UK

Oh, and as for an answer to the question posed, for the attention of our MP......I hope you are sitting down......in a comfy chair....you will have a long wait!

I am already resigned to it being considered a rhetorical question, Margaret.

Re: Down the Turkish Drain

that's the sad part of it......we resign ourselves to the disappointment.
Perhaps that is part of the problem. Clearly, our MP has got it into his head that his constituents(or at least 95% of them) couldn't give a toss about what is going on with the EU......he assumes we are people of narrow vision, and narrower experience.

Our MP listen to those that voted for him!!!
Never.
Unfortunately he has joined the rest of them at the trough.

You don't climb the greasy pole if you support your voters instead of obeying Adenoid Ed, junior whip today, the world tomorrow

'Millions of pounds of British aid is being used to upgrade Turkey’s sewage system, MPs have been told.'

Doesn't it make you feel proud to be part of the European Union?

Even though we've never been asked if want to be a member.

Whilst we have Graham Jones as our M.P., we never will get the chance to have our say.

Let's hear it for the European Union!

May all the turds now flow easily under the streets of Istanbul.

Thanks to our hefty financial contributions.

Not forgetting three cheers for Graham Jones M.P.

Who stated that a referendum would settle E.U. membership 'democratically', though voted that we shouldn't have that democratic right.

Mainly because politicans know best, and we're all a bit too thick to understand it properly.

Hip, hip...

No?

Fair enough.

You may think giving aid to Turkey is crazy; but what about this for nonsense:

Express.co.uk - Home of the Daily and Sunday Express | UK News :: We give £27m aid to Argentina

This is just another reason we should pull out of the EU, when your paying money into a central fund and have no control over where its being spent the game really is up, wonder if our illustrious MP thinks this acceptable for the EU to do this

it wouldnt sting so much if it was £27 million worth of rockets we were fireing at them but even so this country continues to give money to others while its own citizens either make do or go without and that money could be spent a lot better elsewhere.

thats over £100 million given out in 2 days and thats just what we get to hear about

and teh government has the nerve to put our fuel up,gas, electric, food, ...well everything really to pay for their generosity to other countries
